This album was initially released in 2003.

Original Sleeve Notes:

For Twenty-five years the Portsmouth Shanty Men have been singing shanties, forebitters and general songs of the sea around the festivals both maritime and folk, in England, France and the United States. We have entertained at folk clubs, museums, food festivals and corporate entertainment evenings. We have sung on many occasions aboard such ships as the Foudroyant, HMS Victory and the Warrior. The list goes on.

The line up has remained much the same since 1986 when Pete Watkinson had to leave due to his relocation to Worthing. The two ends are Nick Gough and Sooty Broughton, whilst squeezed in the middle are Pete Luscombe and Brian Ingham.

This is our fourth CD and as with the rest we have tried to give you a varied range of shanties and sea songs. We hope you enjoy the album.

The ship on the front cover is the Navy Diving Ship HMS RECLAIM. The sails were used to allow the ship to heave to without the need to use the screw, giving safety to divers. We have the only shanty man 'Sooty Broughton' who sailed before the mast as part of his time aboard this ship in the early '70's
